Weapons of Warfare…

God’s been showing me so much recently in Psalm 23, and my favorite verse right now is five. It’s this amazingly beautiful picture of intimacy and establishment. Like God is saying, “Let all take note, especially your enemies, to whom you belong and to whom you’re seated with.” When you’re at the table with someone, your focus is ON THEM, not what’s going on around you. Our rightful place is at the table, fully engaged and focused on the King of Kings. When you position yourself where you belong: You allow God to be all that He is, and you align yourself to receive all that He has for you.

This verse is insight to what our true weapons of warfare look like: Worship. True warfare is never focused on the enemy, but always focused on the power and majesty of Jesus. Here is why: You become the most like what you’re attention is given to; therefore, if you’re attention is on God, you will become most like Him. (See 2 Corinthians 3:7-18) Be very wary of people always focused on the enemy or destroying the enemy because the reality is: God HAS completely destroyed the enemy, so if you become LIKE Him than what will you do naturally? Jesus not once focused on the devil, but healed every sickness and cast out every demon He came in contact with.

Bill Johnson said something recently that I absolutely love: “I tell you what I love about the ‘weapons of warfare’ is none of them are focused on the devil.”

MIMIC Jesus. Live at the table with your Father.
