Christ in me, the hope of glory.

God is FUN!

So the past couple of days has been really fun with the Lord speaking to me through the media. I LOVE life with God. Couldn’t imagine doing life without such love, kindness, joy, and hope. A few examples that I’ve enjoyed the past couple of days:

Watching a new show on USA called White Collar, really cool show. However, there’s a scene in the Pilot episode where the main character finds this swanky place to live. The FBI agent gets indignant because even in his many years of work doesn’t experience things this nice. He states, “these are the kinds of things you work for, you shouldn’t just get them. You have to work up to these things.” I’m butchering the scene, but God started speaking to me about His grace. Old Law says, “keep these commands, work for your righteousness.” Religion says, “the more you do, the better a Christian you’ll be.” (There’s this misconception of “being good” makes God think better of you. Not true. God already thinks the world of you! Read John 3:14-18) Jesus says, “Believe in me and receive my Father’s inheritance, no works, no doing, just believing.” It’s like the example of pulling someone for speeding and instead of writing them a ticket you give them a $1000 check. HA!

Another example was through the Fisher Price jingle, Play. Laugh. Grow. However, I kept singing Play. Love. Grow. and God said, “Yeah, because that’s the Kingdom.” Is it really that simple? YEP. Love God, love people, enjoy life, and watch yourself grow more than you ever have spiritually and in the knowledge of God. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy. (Rom. 14:17) God taught me like this: “A tree can’t be anything but a tree, and in being a tree, it glorifies me. JUST BE who I’ve made you to be and glorifying me will come naturally. Abide in me and I will abide in you.” (This is a whole other blog topic I’m working on, but DO NOT allow deception to cripple who God has made you to be OR the way God truly sees you.)

God’s fun, life with God is WAY fun. BELIEVE IT!

Yet another video that had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

Psalm 145

I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day;
yes, I will praise you forever.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
let them proclaim your power.
I will meditate[b] on your majestic, glorious splendor
and your wonderful miracles.
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness;
they will sing with joy about your righteousness.
The Lord is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom;
they will give examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds
and about the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule throughout all generations.
The Lord always keeps his promises;
he is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
The eyes of all look to you in hope;
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.
The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.
He grants the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cries for help and rescues them.
The Lord protects all those who love him,
but he destroys the wicked.
I will praise the Lord,
and may everyone on earth bless his holy name
forever and ever.
